Partnering with the Friends of the Myrtle Creek Library and the Cow Creek Tribal Youth Program, UNLSH will be providing a 2-day science day camp to young outdoor explorers August 2nd and 3rd 2022.
Participants will be together in small groups of 4 to 5 lead by trained adult staff including licensed current and retired science teachers, professionals in Natural Science, and UCC college students to guide student teams through our exploration and citizen outdoor science adventures. Lessons are aligned with Oregon Next Generation Science Standards and Field Studies will include a variety of activities such as: Journaling, Animal Tracking, Birding and Bird Biology, Indigenous Culture and Language, Insect Identification, Mollusks and Macroinvertebrates, Stream and Riparian Habitat, Bumblebees and Pollinators.
Each 2 day participant will get to go home with lots of fun science stuff to further their interests. All participants who come and stay for the entire camp event will be eligible for a drawing to get a prize.
